CPR Offers + Initial Training with a Certified eClinicalWorks Trainer for initial implementation of the software + Ongoing support for optimal EHR customization + Remote training sessions + New-user EHR training sessions for clinical and clerical staff. “We totally customize eClinical- Works for each physician practice and specialty,” says Leanne, whose experience includes six years as a clinical manager for a large physician group along with 2 and a half years as a certified eClinicalWorks trainer. “We take what the practice currently does on paper and give them the tools to do it electronically. My objective is not to change the way they do things to fit the EHR software, but to customize the EHR to what they currently do.” To do this, CPR performs an analysis of each practice’s workflow. They also fully customize the practice’s database to the specifics of the practice, so when the implementation is completed, it’s smooth sailing. “We train all levels of staff and physi- cians during the implementation,” says Leanne. “The eClinicalWorks company offers training, as well. What we provide is a local alternative and because we’re local, we’re available for immediate software support and problem solving. We’re more cost-effective as well, because there are no travel expenses.” Ongoing staff training is offered monthly at CPR’s facility in Uniontown near I-77 and Massillon Road (State Route 241). Services are also offered onsite for additional database customization, software upgrades and support. “To become a meaningful user of an EHR, the software has to be set up in a specific way to capture data and make it reportable. So there is some behind- the-scenes customization and set-up that needs to occur, and then training of the staff and physicians about what needs to be done now and in the future as upgrades and new government objectives occur, so all of the mandates can be met to achieve ‘Meaningful Use’ of the EHR,” says Leanne. She emphasizes that it’s all about offer- ing a business infrastructure which enables physicians to provide optimal patient care. Efficient billing and collections solutions are part of that infrastructure. CPR for Billing and Collections Lance Knight is Director of Billing Services for CPR. He points out that CPR takes a unique approach to billing and col- lecting using the eClinicalWorks software. “At CPR, we believe a practice should never lose control of its billing system. This is why we have adopted a unique billing and collections model that allows the client to view work being completed on a real time basis,” he says. “All too often, billing companies require a client’s data be exported, blinding the practice to its billing data. At CPR, transparency takes precedence. The client’s data is always there for them to see in real time.” Billing Services Include + Clearinghouse set up + Coding + Claims processing + Reimbursement posting + Insurance claim follow up and denial management + Patient statements + Collection processes at the discre- tion of the practice + Credentialing “We follow each practice’s guidelines for billing and communicating with their patients,” Lance explains. “We don’t have set protocols. We work with the practice to do the billing process as if they were doing their billing in house, except that we streamline the process and make it easier for them.” CPR works with its physician clients to provide the information they need to ensure that their claims are accurate. They also notify them of and support them with upgrades needed for their eClinicalWorks software, changes in coding, and insurance guidelines. “We are billing specialists,” says Lance. “By taking care of this aspect — this business aspect — of practicing medicine, doctors and staff have more time to take care of patients.” Fo r mo r e inf o rmat i on a b out Comprehensive Practice Resources (CPR), visit www.comprehensivepracticeresources. com or call 330-899-9270. n MDNEWS.COM  JULY-AUGUST 2011  MD NEWS Cleveland-Akron-Canton | 49
