Health Quest 12
The Putnam Hospital
Center Foundation
is helping Putnam
Hospital Center celebrate
a fantastic golden
anniversary year.
A CELEBRATION
IN THE MAKING
YEARS
In 1964, PHC, which originated as a 19-bed emergency facility
in Mahopac, officially opened as a full-fledged hospital in Carmel.
Fast forward 50 years, and that hospital is now a 164-bed facility
with a rich tradition of delivering excellent care. Several PHC
Foundation events have helped us mark a half-century of healing
and raised money for hospital equipment and service updates.
Northeastern Anesthesia Services Charity Golf
Tournament—More than 100 golfers teed off in June at Trump
National Golf Club in Hopewell Junction.
Dr. Gil and Lyda Rojas Memorial Golf Tournament—Golfers
celebrated the end of summer with a day on the course at Mahopac
Golf and Beach Club in September.
Annual Gala and Ball—e crown jewel of the PHC Foundation
year will take place in November at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich in
Old Greenwich, Connecticut. e evening of cocktails, dinner, dancing
and a silent auction will honor the spirit of the community that trusts
PHC for its healthcare needs.
"PHC would not be here today without our friends' and neighbors'
continuing commitment to having award–winning health care in
this county," says Anita M. Minella, executive director of the PHC
Foundation. "Community members know they can come to PHC and
receive the absolute best clinical care, and we're so proud of that."

HEALTH QUEST HAPPENINGS
Expansion and renovation projects at Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center
have Mid-Hudson Valley residents looking forward to the future of health care in the region.
At NDH, construction is underway on a new $47 million, 81,000-square-foot medical pavilion. The
building will feature six operating rooms designed to accommodate advanced surgical equipment and
complex procedures, as well as patient rooms that are all private.
Workers recently put the finishing touches on an additional 15 treatment bays at VBMC's Emergency
Department and completely renovated the hospital's cafeteria. Next up: renovation of the original
Emergency Department space to bring it up to the standards of the new portion, followed by updates
to the main lobby and first floor corridors.
