Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville has received a five-star quality rating — the best possible — from Medicare for the sixth straight time. Only one-fifth of the more than 15,000 nursing homes nation - wide have a five-star Medicare rating. Mountainside's rating came after inspec- tors from the New York state Department of Health completed a rigorous recertifica- tion survey. Information from that survey was used to determine the Medicare rating. Medicare and the rating are administered by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which also works with states to administer Medicaid. Mountainside — a Medicare- and Medicaid- certified nursing home providing skilled nurses 24 hours a day — is an integral part of Kingston's HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley healthcare system. The system also includes Margaretville Hospital adjacent to Mountainside; HealthAlliance Hospital: Mary's Avenue Campus and Broadway Campus in Kingston; and Woodland Pond independent- living continuing care retirement community in New Paltz, New York. ■ (L –R) Marketing and Public Relations Specialist Lauren Kropf-Zuckerman; Executive Director of Marketing and Public Relations Rob Lee; Marketing and Public Relations Director Marcy Manheim; Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Dominique Mohansingh; and Marketing and Public Relations Specialist Donna Fischer 1 4 | Mid Hudson MD NEWS ■ M D N E W S .
