"It gives you a feeling of happiness and a positive overall sense of well-being." Don't let these winter workout excuses interfere with your good mood: 1. It's too snowy for a run. Experiment with something completely different, Tourge advises, whether that's snowshoeing or an indoor activity such as pilates. 2. e combo of sweaty clothes and cold temps makes you miserable. If you do exercise outdoors, wear multiple thin layers, rather than one heavy layer, and don a hat and scarf. "You want to keep your body warm while minimizing sweating," Tourge says. "Wet, damp clothing significantly increases body-heat loss." 3. It hurts to breathe cold air. Cover your mouth and nose with a scarf to warm air before you breathe in, which can ease the bite of a chilly day.
