A PUBLICATION FROM YOUR FRIENDS AT HURON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Alese
Fox,
MD
Welcome Home,
Dr. Fox!
Growing up in Willow Lake, Dr. Fox does not
remember a time she wasn't interested in medicine.
Being raised in a rural area, she says she was
always drawn to primary care and the work of the
old-fashioned family doctor. After high school, she
pursued her undergraduate and medical degrees at
the University of South Dakota and later completed
three years of residency training through the Sioux
Falls Family Medicine Residency program.
While in college, Dr. Fox entered into an agreement
with Huron Regional Medical Center to practice in
Huron after she completed her residency. In her
last year of medical school, she interned with
Nathan Loewen, MD, a family medicine with OB
physician at New Life Family Medicine, for four
weeks. When Dr. Loewen offered her a job in his
practice, she jumped at the opportunity.
"My husband and I both grew up near Huron,
so returning to the area was always something we
hoped to do," Dr. Fox says. "Huron really feels like home
to us. We're excited to finally be somewhere permanent
and build a life here."
A Heart for Family
Dr. Fox provides primary care to children and adults
of all ages, with a focus on obstetrics. Her love for the
birthing process is an extension of her passion for
family care.
"Obstetrics is arguably the part of my job I enjoy most,"
Dr. Fox says. "It's humbling and rewarding to be involved
in such an intimate part of a family's life."
After spending 11 years away from the
area she called home, Alese Fox, MD, is
back, and she's here to stay.
