JACK DWORKIN NAMED NEW CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER Jack Dworkin, MD, MBA, FACC, has been promoted to vice president, Medical Affairs, and chief medical officer, CentraState. He takes the position over from Benjamin Weinstein, MD, PhD, who is retiring at the end of the year after 32 years at CentraState. Dr. Dworkin, who is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology, graduated from Jack Dworkin, MD, MBA, FACC the New York University School of medicine in 1981, and performed his internal medicine residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Rutgers Medical School in 1986, and had his own cardiology practice up until he was named chief medical officer. CENTRASTATE ACHIEVES FEDERAL STANDARD FOR HEALTH TECHNOLOGY CentraState Medical Center is among the first hospitals in the country to be recognized as a Meaningful User of Technology by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. By participating in the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Records Incentive Program, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, CentraState earned the recognition for adopting technology for electronic medical and health records. "CentraState has been using electronic health record technology in ways that improves quality, safety, and efficiency," says John T. Gribbin, president and CEO, CentraState. "We've also been engaging patients and their families in their health care and improving care coordination, all while maintaining privacy and security." CENTRASTATE RECEIVES GOLD STANDARD DESIGNATION The CEO Roundtable on Cancer has recognized CentraState Medical Center as a Gold Standard employer. The CEO Cancer Gold Standard requires facilities to meet a series of criteria to implement an effective anti-cancer policy in the workplace. The criteria consist of five pillars that align with the goals of risk reduction, early detection, and primary care.
