Our employees see the impact high-quality health care can make every day. It's part of what drives them to give their best, not just for patients but for each other. Here is what working at HRMC means to some of our 300-plus employees, in their own words. CELEBRATING Our People Huron Regional Medical Center joined the nation in celebrating National Hospital Week in May. We honor the men and women who make it possible for us to care for our community. "HRMC is a landmark of the community we live in. Working here becomes a part of you, an extension of home and a direct connection to the region. There are always puzzles to solve, such as repairing complex machines, drafting new policies and procedures, training staff of all disciplines and backgrounds, and more." – Adam Fleischhacker, BMET, biomedical equipment department 10 YEARS "The pay and benefits here are good, and the people I work with are friendly. I like the independence I have to complete my work on my own schedule and time – as long as I get everything done during my shift." – Nancy Schwartz, housekeeping 7 YEARS "The work environment at HRMC is fast-moving, friendly and patient- focused. Each and every day is a new day, helping patients, staff and physicians when needed." – Amy Goergen, RN, BSN, patient care coordinator, medical, surgical and ICU units 20 YEARS "Everyone here has worked together for a long time, so it feels really homey and welcoming. All the friendly faces make HRMC a great place to work." – Liz Du Toit, RN, medical and surgical unit 2 YEARS "Everyone is like a family member. We are involved in each other's lives and that makes for a great working team. We work in a very demanding field, but we are a very caring group and are genuinely concerned about our patients and their families. We strive to do our best to make a difficult time for them as smooth as possible." – Jaci Bartel, RN, nursing supervisor 30 YEARS "On a daily basis, I am encouraged and treated with respect. I feel valued in my role in the organization. No two days are alike. The work is challenging, invigorating and very rewarding." – Carol Dirks, registered health information administrator 1½ YEARS "I love the ability to cross-train in other departments. HRMC is a team-oriented workplace. We really care about our patients and work together to give great care." – Jill Dunbar, RN, medical and surgical unit 1½ YEARS
