PLANNED GIVING SEMINARS HELP LOCAL PHILANTHROPISTS DETERMINE HOW AND WHERE TO GIVE. On May 20, Medcen Community Health Foundation, Navicent Health partnered with Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Macon Estate Planning Council, Museum of Arts and Sciences, Museum of Aviation, and Tubman Museum to oer community residents two seminars about planned giving. Kathryn W. Miree, the featured guest, is a nationally recognized speaker on charitable gi planning. Miree spoke at a breakfast for professional advisors in the area and at a luncheon for past and potential donors. Miree discussed the dierent tax advantages for donors and how planned giving can be a more personal method of philanthropy for many donors. e breakfast also qualied as continuing education credit for professional advisors. Miree focused on how the donors' goals matter enormously when choosing where to give, and she suggested donors should select opportunities that make a dierence in areas that are important to them. Charitable planning not only allows for tax reduction incentives, it also lets givers combine their goals with their gis.
