Today, I am excited to announce that CHRISTUS Spohn is now using the latest da Vinci® Xi robotic surgical system at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South — the only location in the Coastal Bend where this technology is available. We are greatly expanding the robotic surgical platform currently used for minimally invasive surgery at the South campus . What this means for our community is that now we can access the most advanced robotic technology right here in Corpus Christi. Please read more in this issue about the da Vinci Xi and all the benefits that this system brings to our patients. Also in this issue of LiveWell, get to know our furriest therapists — the dogs from the Paws Up pet therapy program. These well-trained canines provide not just companionship and joy when they visit our hospitals but also rehabilitation services to help patients regain their mobility. LiveWell also features Kimberly Stewart, D.O., radiation oncologist, who has practiced at the CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center for more than 10 years. She shares her devotion to helping patients battling cancer in South Texas.
