The Olsens are longtime residents of Huron, where they owned Olsen Implement, the family's agricultural equipment and truck dealership. Being involved in the community and supporting Huron Regional Medical Center has been part of their way of life for years. Nels, now 91, is a former president of the Huron Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the Rotary Club, church and several area business boards, as well as working with the James Valley Shrine Club. Dorothy, now 92, is known for her involvement in church events, bridge, PEO and being a proud mother of four children, all of whom were born at HRMC. "Being active supporters of the future of health care in Huron has always been important to my mother and father," says Karen Marcus, the couple's daughter. "As they age, we've seen firsthand the importance of having a hospital here that can meet the needs of our aging community. That's just one of the reasons they give back." The couple's good example made a lasting impression on Marcus, who along with her husband, Steve, continues to support the mission of HRMC.
