This year's event was made extra special with a live performance by TV's The Voice seminalist Kat Perkins performing her Holiday Show. Kat also performed two holiday classics with local talent Mikey Meester, a 17-year-old Valley City High School student. "Kat and Mikey's duets of 'Jingle Bells' and 'Silent Night' were compelling and soulful," says Stephanie Mayeld, Foundation/Mission Director at CHI Mercy Health. "The gala paired ne dining with amazing entertainment so guests could enjoy fellowship, music, and fun while supporting a great cause. We look forward to adding these new traditions to next year's event as well." Money from event ticket sales, raes, and auctioned items raised more than $18,000 toward the goal of $45,000 needed for the new DEXA imaging equipment. "The Foundation Board generously added $27,000 from our Greatest Needs fund to secure the new DEXA scanner for our Radiology department," Stephanie says. "This new machine will help us continue to better serve the people of Barnes County as our patients' health depends on accurate diagnosis and preventive treatment. DEXA is also eective in tracking the eects of treatment for osteoporosis and other conditions that cause bone loss. The new machine is on order and should be installed during the month of March." The support of individuals and area businesses helped CHI Mercy Health Foundation raise more than $20,000 at our 2014 event to purchase new equipment for our Physical Therapy Department. Pictured below is a sampling of new equipment now in use in our Physical Therapy Department, featuring two of our Physical Therapists, Grant Goven and Kyle Gregerson.
