Broder & Sachse Real Estate Services and Woodborn Partners broke ground on the five-story luxury apartment complex in March and now have a tenant locked in for 4,500 square- feet of ground-floor retail — restauranteur Michael Abrams. Abrams, who owns Mr. Joe's in Southfield (26077 12 Mile Road) and some 30 Five Guys Burgers and Fries locations, liked the building and its location so much that he signed a lease without any particu- lar concept in mind for the space. In fact, Abrams even signed a lease for one of the residential units, telling the Detroit News, "I'm 58 years old, and this is not like any- thing I've ever seen in Detroit." The restaurant will be an American- style bistro, and the specifics should be pinned down over the next month or so. Residential rents in the building at Woodward and Erskine will range from $900 to $3,000 per month, and the Scott will offer a four-season spa, community kitchen, rooftop terrace with outdoor fireplaces, 24/7 concierge service and a second-floor landscaped outdoor pool deck. Pre-leasing is available now for the 200 units planned for the build- ing. For more information, visit www.thescottdetroit.com. Speaking of turning heads in Detroit, initial designs have been released for the new Little Caesars Global Resource Center planned for the corner of Woodward and Columbia, three blocks south of the future Little Caesars Arena. The building will be the first new construc- tion corporate headquarters in the city in more than a decade, only the seventh since 1950. Construction is set to begin this sum- mer; the building will house 700 employ- ees and a ground-floor retail space, though no tenants have been announced. An apparent homage to the foundation of the Ilitch family business holdings, the build- ing will feature 14-foot-tall glass windows shaped like … pizza slices. The fastest growing-pizza chain in America, Little Caesars is the world's largest carryout pizza chain and now has stores in every state and 18 international markets. NEW SANDWICH PLACE IN FARMINGTON HILLS Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, a fast-casual chain first launched by Detroit native Jeff Sinelli in 2003, opened a new location in Farmington Hills last month (31217 W. 14 Mile). Franchisee Frank Irani of Farmington Hills says it's only the first location he plans to open, having locked in a 13-Zip Code territory across Oakland and Wayne counties with the Dallas-based restaurant company. The restaurant features a number of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and gluten- free lettuce wraps, with some rotating on a seasonal basis. The sandwiches are afford- able and unique — with more variety than your average sub shop and more custom- ization, too. Instead of ordering at the counter, you grab a brown bag and mark the ingredients you want (or don't), then hand it off to a cashier and your sandwich is prepared in just minutes. In 2014, Forbes named the chain one of the "30 Best Franchises to Buy."
