"This group kept
me going," said
Cyndy Morris,
who is still
recovering from
a stroke suffered
The five members they've lost
remain with them in spirit. "They're
really here," said Kohn, touching her
heart.
At a recent gathering, Henry Traurig
brought in a vase full of dried hydran-
geas, explaining that he took them
from Miller's garden before she died.
Several of the women teared up.
The group used to rotate its meet-
ings among members' homes but now
they meet at Diane Traurig's house.
Since her MS has worsened, she needs
to use a wheelchair and it's difficult for
her to get out.
The five women have been together
so long that they're not interested in
bringing newcomers into their group.
But they'll be happy to talk with other
women fighting cancer or chronic ill-
ness and help them set up their own
support groups.
