New Paint Kills Bacteria, Comes in 590 Colors S HERWIN-WILLIAMS RECENTLY INTRODUCED Paint Shield, the fi rst EPA-registered microbicidal paint that ki lls more tha n 99.9 percent of E .coli, enterobacter aerogenes, MRSA, VRE and Staphylococcus aureus bacterias. Scheduled to hit the market during the fi rst quarter of 2016, Paint Shield can be administered to interior ceilings, doors, trims and walls made of hard, non-porous materials.
