DEAR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS, Greetings from the CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System family! As we enter the fall season, I hope this issue of LiveWell finds you and your family doing just that. As the leaves begin to change, it reminds me that with time, all things change. Health care is a rapidly changing environment, and here at CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System, that's exactly what we've been doing for you. This past year has brought about quite a bit of exciting change we are thrilled to share with you! From construction beginning at our new outpatient center in Mid County, to investments of $4 million for new state-of-the-art catheterization labs and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at St. Elizabeth, to new wound care services brought to St. Mary and the addition of 3-D mammography at Jasper Memorial, CHRISTUS has been diligently working to bring the latest technology and services to the communities we serve. In addition, on Pages 6 and 7 in this issue, you'll read about the new Excellence in Joint Replacement program at St. Elizabeth. This comprehensive program, which allows our team to help patients navigate their experience from pre-op to recovery, uses best practices from around the nation. We are thrilled to share these milestones of progress with you as we work hard to better serve the needs of our community. In closing, as we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please take time to remind the women in your life to be proactive with their health and schedule their annual mammogram. Early detection saves lives! I hope you enjoy this issue of LiveWell, and we thank you for choosing CHRISTUS.
