T elehealth helps connect local patients to specialty care providers via computer and video technologies. At CHI St. Joseph's Health, the telepsychiatry program connects people to mental health providers. "This program makes mental health services available where they weren't before," says Dr. David Lopez, a psychiatrist from Psychiatry Networks, behavioral health affiliate of CHI St. Joseph's Health. "It means you don't have to drive long distances to receive help. What's more we're here for you seven days a week, 24-hours a day." The round-the-clock access is important to patients who may be experiencing a personal crisis or other behavioral health need. CHI St. Joseph's Health is pleased to be able to provide these crucial consultation psychiatry services for our Emergency Department and our hospital patients. "We couldn't oer telepsychiatry without the generous support of the Telehealth Network Grant Program from the Federal Oce of Rural Health Policy. Because of this program, we can connect more people to the help they need."
