This issue features a number of initiatives that well illustrate these points, beginning with our Cover Story on the new Summa Health Orthopedic Institute. Eight fellowship trained specialists, led by Scott Weiner, MD, oer a full continuum of orthopedic care through six clinical locations in Summit and Medina counties. The Orthopedic Institute was also designed with an eye to the changing healthcare landscape, and its focus on population health ensures the ability to control costs while maintaining the highest levels of quality. Gregory M. Beddell, MD, is profiled in our Physician Spotlight. Dr. Beddell recently opened Serenity Plastic Surgery with o‹ces in Stow and Uniontown. His reconstruc- tive surgery practice addresses the important functional considerations, as well as cosmetic and emotional aspects, of treating individuals with congenital abnormalities, traumatic injuries and certain cancers. Several local hospitals are planning expansions. The Cleveland Clinic recently announced plans to expand its international footprint, with a facility in London. The new site would be in addition to its main campus near downtown Cleveland, nine Northeast Ohio regional hospitals, and facilities in Weston, FL; Las Vegas, NV; Toronto, Canada; and Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is just a sampling of some of the wonderful news in the pages to follow. I'm sure, like me, you are motivated by the positive momentum in Northeast Ohio's healthcare industry and look forward to actively participating in ongoing advancements. Thanks for reading.
