The event is held in honor of nursing profession- als and their dedi- cated work at 1199SEIU institutions. Nominees, selected for the titles of Nurse of Distinction, Nurse Leader, Nurse Preceptor and Nurse Novice, represent the pinnacle of nursing in New York state. DiAgostino was nomi- nated by Orange Regional Medical Center's Nurse of Distinction Committee for her skill and dedication to her profession, patients, co-workers and the hospital. Additionally, Orange Regional Medical Center's Darian Fox, R.N., was second runner-up for Nurse of Distinction. Bon Secours Community Hospital and St. Anthony Community Hospital have successfully launched the ASAP elec- tronic medical records system in their emergency departments. 22 | Mid Hudson MD NEWS ■ MDNEWS.COM The ASAP electronic medical records system is an integrated clinical information system that makes it possible to link all patient medical information to one record. It provides access to evidence-based clinical practices and information that support the hospitals' drive to deliver clinical excellence. This critical component is a precursor to the launch of a full medical records system, ConnectCare, across Bon Secours Charity Health System. All three of the Bon Secours Charity Health System hospitals are now equipped with an electronic medical record system in their emergency departments. to patients and surgeons, and the only one currently performing thoracic robotic surgery between Albany and Westchester County. Multiple surgeries were performed in the first weeks. The da Vinci Si Surgical System has several unique features designed to provide additional clinical benefits and efficiency in the operating room, many of which translate into patient benefits, including: enhanced 3-D, high-definition vision of operative field with as much as 10 times the magnification; new da Vinci Skills Simulation; superior visual clarity of tissue and anatomy; surgical dexterity and precision far greater than even the human hand; updated and simplified user interface to enhance operating room efficiency; and new ergonomic settings for greater surgeon comfort. The system has been made available to staff for hands-on simulations. ■ Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers' new da Vinci Si Surgical System Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers in Poughkeepsie has placed its newly acquired da Vinci Si Surgical System into service.
