Whether it's starting their freshman year of college or obtaining an advanced degree, the program has supported those in furthering their education. We caught up with a few previous Credit Union scholarship recipients to see where they are today and how American Airlines Credit Union has helped them in their pursuit of higher learning. School of medicine It's 2016 and Ross Liao is ready for the next step in fulfi lling his career dream. Having successfully received an undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, Ross is transitioning into his fi rst year as a medical student. To get here, Ross thanks his parents for teaching him life lessons, including reaching out to the Credit Union to help build fi nancial stability. His father works for American and both of his parents have accounts. He saw the benefi ts even before he was awarded his scholarship in 2014. CATCHING UP WITH MEMBER SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS By James Mayfield "The scholarship money went directly toward funding my tuition, and it helped a great deal with the fi nancial burden of paying for school," Ross says. "I don't know if I would have been able to aff ord a private school like Hopkins if I didn't have a scholarship like that." Though he's still undecided which specialty of medicine he'll go into, Ross is keeping an open mind about the future.
