SPOTLIGHT 44 | | Winter 2016 W ord of mouth can be a powerful thing when growing a business. As American Airlines Federal Credit Union membership increases along- side the new American Airlines, talking with employees about the benefi ts the Credit Union offers has become one of the best ways to add members. Just ask Flight Academy and American Airlines Training and Conference Center Branch Manager Connie Johnson, who uses her passion for the Credit Union to spread the word in new-hire classes for fl ight attendants, other eligible members and beyond. "Whether I am on a plane, walking around the building, in a store or even in a dentist's offi ce, I always mention the Credit Union," Johnson says. "I have been a member for almost 25 years, and I think everyone should be aware of the benefi ts and become a member as well." Johnson began her career with America West Airlines in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1990. Flash forward to today, and she just helped open a new — and positioned to be very successful — Credit Union branch in December 2015. "My current and past teams has been extremely instrumental in the development process of this new branch and are largely responsible for its existence," she said. The Training Center branch is located behind the lodge check-in desk. Having a presence at this location means Johnson and her team will be able to assist the approximately 25,000 fl ight attendants who visit the Training Center each year. "My goal is to always give 150 percent in hopes that I have changed someone's fi nancial welfare for the better or educated them on a product they were not aware of," Johns says. "We have a great new branch, and I know our members will see this. We look forward to seeing you and contributing to your fi nancial success!"
