MCCC's Dental Hygiene Program and dental outreach programs, such as the College's dental sealant program for children ages 6 to 14. As a result, Tierra's name has become a vital part of the Dental Hygiene Program. "We felt it was a way to honor how she lived her life since she was very involved in the community, really appreciated her time at Montgomery County Community College and she loved her work," said Jason Dobry. "We feel good about our contribution because it feels very personal, and we've met and gotten to know the scholarship recipients." "She would have wanted to help others who were on the same path she was on, and she would have appreciated their struggles," Thornton added. Jenny Sheaffer, director of MCCC's Dental Hygiene Program, is grateful for the Dobrys' support. "It is hard to convey in words what the Dobry family and Tierra L. Dobry Foundation have meant to our students, the Dental Hygiene Program and to me personally," Sheaffer said. "The relationship has been very special, and I am thankful that I have gotten to know the family and taken part in the wonderful legacy that the Dobrys have created on behalf of Tierra." In addition to the scholarships and dental outreach programs, the Tierra L. Dobry Foundation has named the children's waiting area in the Dental Hygiene Clinic in the new Health Sciences Center in memory of Tierra. "She was always very active in enriching the lives of children, whether it was her own grandkids, those who she supported as the President of the Junior Service League in hosting toy drives at the holidays or those who she taught in Sunday school at the First Presbyterian Church in Pottstown. It is a very appropriate way to continue to honor her memory," Jason Dobry said. "I remember sitting in the former waiting room area during clinic hours, waiting to have my teeth cleaned by Tierra. Having the waiting room named in her honor is very special," added Thornton. The next Routes of Hope 5K Run/Walk is Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Pope John Paul II High School, 181 Rittenhouse Road, Royersford, Pa. For more information about the Tierra L.
