Consult your doctor before undertaking any form of medical treatment or adopting any exercise program or dietary guidelines. Thank you for the excellent care and services provided to me when I was at Saint Joseph Hospital for outpatient surgery. I commend you and your staff in outpatient surgery and the recovery room. Staff spoke to me by name, introduced themselves and informed me what services they were there to perform. Personnel communicated well with one another. The nurses were most helpful and effective in post-surgical care and the recovery process, and they had pleasant dispositions. All patient care areas were clean and bright. In particular, I wish to recognize the exceptional level of care provided by my nurse, Lori. Her skills were immediately evident. Somehow, she managed to make the collection and entry of data a pleasant process. When she communicated instructions, she moved closer and spoke in a gentle voice; this was highly effective in communicating her competence and her concern. Her rapport with her colleagues, supervisors and subordinates indicated that they both liked and respected her. Lori's very presence has a calming effect. Everything about her communications conveys a positive attitude. Lori's compassion is authentic, and her empathy is genuine. Her demeanor is quite reassuring. Lori is truly a model of excellence for the nursing profession." My mom was recently taken to the ER at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. She was put on a ventilator which was a pretty traumatic experience for all involved. She was stabilized and taken to the critical care unit. There, she had two nurses who could only be described as angels. The day nurse was Catherine and the night nurse was Katie. Catherine took her time to explain everything that was happening with the care of my mom and made sure that mom was comfortable and well cared for. Katie was super busy with seriously ill patients but still made time to check on my mom regularly to ensure she had everything she needed. She had a calm demeanor given the seriously ill patients she was caring for. My brother and I wanted to make sure we acknowledged the wonderful care we received from these two nurses."
