The St. Catherine of Siena quar terly EMS Dinner and Lecture Series was held on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at Stonebridge Countr y Club — an initiative that fosters excellence in health care ser vices through improved communication and education. First responders Barbara Turbush and Kristen Bruce- Gonzalez from the Kings Park Fire Depar tment were presented with the Protector of the Penumbra award by St. Catherine of Siena's Stroke Program Coordinator Catherine Videtto. The Protector of the Penumbra award was developed by St. Catherine of Siena as a patient initiative in par tnership with the American Hear t Association. The goal is to improve administration times for the clot-busting drug used in the treatment of patients Barbara Turbush and Kristen Bruce-Gonzalez from the Kings Park Fire Department with St. Catherine of Siena's Stroke Program Coordinator Catherine Videtto who are brought to the Emergency Depar tment with symptoms of acute ischemic stroke.
