"Then we realized that people's support circles are larger than their families and that this is a small community that we're all invested in." The mission statement was then updated to read, "Provide compassionate care, advance healing and inspire hope for our patients and their loved ones," which is now the official version being implemented in all aspects of care. THE MISSION IN ACTION CRHS is devoted to making sure local patients don't have to travel outside of the community to receive the treatment they need. In addition to bringing new programs, clinical trials and advancements such as telemedicine to the area, CRHS also performs community outreach to educate community members about wellness programs and preventive screenings that are available to them. "We recently hosted the Columbus Regional Family Health Festival," Hollis says. "Free blood-pressure checks and bone-density scans were available. There can be economic challenges and accessibility issues in a small community like ours, so we're offering as much as we can to help." Hollis is thankful that she works with such a dedicated staff that is committed to these initiatives and adheres to the new mission statement in all that they do. "I think what sets us apart is the people who are providing care," Hollis says. "They have dedicated their lives to working here. They grew up here, and they're a community of caregivers who are looking after neighbors, church friends, family members and each other."
