But when it comes to creating the products that American Airlines Federal Credit Union offers its member-owners, it means finding the right product or service for each individual member's situation — so they can ultimately reach their financial goals. That's why it helps to have experienced Credit Union employees such as Underwriting Risk Analyst Ryan Pereira in your corner. From his role in the Product Origination Group at the Flagship branch in Fort Worth, Pereira works with the Credit Union's frontline loan officers, member ser- vice representatives and other departments to provide the most beneficial products. "When it comes to underwriting, managing the product behind the screen, the servicing, all of that is done by our group," Pereira says. "The products that are open, including checking and savings accounts; we write all the guidelines and policies and procedures of those products. There are a lot of things that go on in the background and we want to make sure our loan officers on the frontline have all the tools readily available for them so it's a better experience for our members and our loan officers." Beginning with his first position in Mortgages and throughout his 16-year career in positions as a proces- sor, loan officer and consumer lending officer, Pereira has been involved in all sides of the business of helping members find the products that work best for them. He's been with product origination for more than two years now. Seeing the different sides of the business has given Pereira a unique perspective. But now being in the back, I see how much work is involved and everything has to work seamlessly." Throughout the year, Pereira and his team are always working on new prod- ucts to fit members' needs. In fact, there should be news of new products coming in 2018 that will assist members with their finances even more. Stay tuned.
