If you're looking to improve your lifestyle but get overwhelmed by all of the questionable information online, try attending our Health Matters Education Series. "It's a great way to encourage you on your journey to living the healthiest life possible," says Terrie Priest, vice president of business development and community relations at Columbus Regional Healthcare System. "Physicians and employees share information on a wide variety of topics in which they're well- versed—from sports injuries and weight-loss surgery to eating healthy and avoiding temptations during the holidays." The series began this past summer as a free resource open to the public. Sessions are held on the first Tuesday of every month, typically from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. After a 30- to 40-minute presentation, attendees are encouraged to ask questions and steer the conversation to suit their needs. The Health Matters Education Series usually meets in the CRHS administrative conference room, where we provide door prizes and healthy snacks. Occasionally, we'll hold breakfast sessions, during which you can gather with other community members for a wholesome start to your day. To learn more about the Health Matters Education Series, contact Terrie Priest at 910-642-9303.
