In addition, newly adopted children receive a comprehensive medical exam to screen for a variety of health issues and previ - ously undiagnosed conditions. Bon Secours Community Hospital's Surgical Weight Loss Institute, a mem- ber of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMC Health), announces its bariatric surgi- cal center has been accredited as a Comprehensive Center un- der the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The MBSAQIP Standards, outlined in the Resources for Optimal Care of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Patient 2016, ensure that bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term success. Cardiac care ser vices are now provided at Putnam Hospital Center through The Hear t Center, a Health Quest affiliate. Three cardiolo - gists — Lawrence Solomon, MD; Anthony Messina, MD; and Aar ti Campo, MD — have begun seeing patients on the hospital campus, with offices at 672 Stoneleigh Ave., Suite C-126. All three are board-cer tified through the American College of Cardiology and specialize in general cardiol - ogy, as well as nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. Dr. Solomon received his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and has been in practice for 17 years. Dr. Messina is Medical Director for Health Quest's CT and Nuclear labs. He graduated from New York University's School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than nine years. He is fluent in Spanish and Italian. Dr. Campo joined The Heart Center in 2017, having previously served as director of the heart failure program for PinnacleHealth Hospital in Pennsylvania. She graduated from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo in New York and has been in practice for five years. Sparrow's Nest of the Hudson Valley has expanded its mission from delivering within a 20-mile to now a 35-mile radius of the kitchen located in Wappingers Falls, New York. This change will take place April 3, 2018. Six months ago, Sparrow's Nest of the Hudson Valley grew from feeding the families of sick parents and caregivers to feeding the families of children who are bat - tling cancer. In the fall of 2017, the charity also moved into its larger, com- mercial facility in Summerlain Plaza in Dutchess County. Sparrow's Nest is a nonprofit charity, committed to helping families in many parts of the Hudson Valley with caregivers and children battling cancer. The charity prepares and delivers two homemade meals weekly to families in Dutchess and Putnam counties and parts of Ulster and Orange counties. Putnam Hospital Center re - cently received a Comprehensive Center designa- tion from the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP). The MBSAQIP is a joint program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. To earn the MBSAQIP designation, Putnam Hospital Center met essential criteria for staffing, training, facility infrastructure and protocols for care.
