People with Down syndrome have three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two, which is how the date "3/21" was chosen. MARCH 21 » CRNIC GRAND CHALLENGE GRANTS The Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome will announce its exciting roster of 2018 scientific grant recipients, supporting important and often first-in- class research at the University of Colorado to further understand the condition and improve health outcomes for people with Down syndrome.
