D a t a c o m p i l e d between 1994 and 2013 by the U.S. Small Business Administration revea l that only 78.5 percent of startups survive their first year. After 10 years, only a third are still in business. Serenity Home Health Care has not only outlasted much of the competition — it 's continued to grow and thrive. A PROVEN COMMITMENT TO QUALITY As pa r t of Vincent 's mission of doing the right thing for the right rea sons, Serenity Home Health Care is not driven solely by Medicare reimbursement. The agency entered the HMO arena by part- nering with Tampa-based CareCentrix in 2006. Serenit y Home Hea lth Ca re was one of 100 agencies that joined the CareCentrix network. However, by 2009, thanks to the high qua lity of care deliv- ered, CareCentrix named Serenity Home Health Care its No. 1 preferred provider in Miami-Dade County. Vincent credits the success Serenity Home Hea lth Ca re ha s ex perienced, in part, to the team he has assembled, which is made up of 10 o•ce employees a nd 70 field sta – members, including nu r ses , phy sica l , occupat ion a l a nd speech therapists, and medica l socia l workers. Available 24 hours a day, the team currently cares for 400 patients throughout Mia mi-Dade Count y a nd sees 200–250 new patients every month. Team members prioritize clinical excel- lence and compassion.
