THE MAYS CANCER CENTER AT UT HE ALTH SAN ANTONIO IS HOSTING THE BEST OF A SCO TE X A S RE VIE W AT THE OMNI L A MANSION DEL RIO ON SAN ANTONIO'S FAMOUS RIVERWALK. THE AMERICAN SOCIET Y of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) brings people together from around the world who are involved in cancer treatment, research and teaching. As cancer's largest professional society, one of ASCO's crucial missions is hosting large national and regional meetings to present the latest discoveries, especially in the realm of treatments. One of the greatest barriers to eective dissemination of information is the large size of the audience and the sheer volume of details, including journal articles, studies, protocols, modalities and other aspects of cancer care that are presented each year. ASCO addresses this barrier in part by supporting smaller, local meetings by presenters who take the "best of ASCO" from the larger conferences and organize smaller conferences in their local areas. The Best of ASCO Texas Review is a one-day event will be a comprehensive summary of the most up-to-date research and clinical data presented at the 2018 ASCO Annual Meeting. Topics to be presented include palliative and supportive care, neuro- oncology, breast cancer — metastatic/breast oncology-adjuvant, hematologic malignancies, lung cancer/thoracic, colorectal cancer, new therapeutics, gynecology oncology, gastrointestinal cancers — CR, head and neck, and GU oncology. The conference is recommended for hematologists/oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals specializing in oncology, and oers up to nine hours of continuing medical education credit. Speakers will be physicians and researchers from Stanford, MD Anderson, Northwestern, Mayo Clinic and University of Washington, as well as San Antonio's Mays Cancer Center.
