from the ceo It's not every day that an outside group ranks you as No. 1 among your peers — especially when you're a hospital and your peers cover the entire state of Georgia. Georgia Trend magazine has named Redmond Regional Medical Center the state's TOP MediumSized Hospital. How did the publication come to this decision? Georgia Trend engaged a team of healthcare analysts from the WellStar Health System and asked them to figure out how to rank Georgia's hospitals. The team drew upon all the publicly reported data on quality, safety and patient satisfaction then categorized hospitals according to size—small, medium and large. Of the 35 Georgia hospitals that have between 151 and 399 beds and were categorized as "mediumsized," Redmond Regional was ranked best. The staff members here at Redmond Regional are very proud of this ranking, as it validates the good work our team does for their patients and the community. We hope the citizens of Rome, Floyd County and Northwest Georgia are similarly proud.  We hope spring finds you ready for new beginnings and the opportunity to relax in the sun with this latest issue of connect. On page 7, you will meet our new urgent care physician, Etienne Rodriguez, MD. Dr. Rodriguez sees patients—no appointment necessary—in our Cedartown office. For a listing of all of our great primary care offices and to find an office near you, check out the back cover. On page 9, you will read about David Branch's amazing stroke survival and recovery story and the care he received here at Redmond Regional, a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence. On page 14, we give tips on how families can get involved as a group to give back to the community. We even share just a few of the ways that the Redmond Regional family gives back to the community. It is a privilege to work in healthcare and to serve our friends and neighbors in times of need. We are so proud to have been recognized for doing this well. Thank you for your support and for allowing us to be a part of your family. Sincerely, John Quinlivan, FACHE We are No. 1! Georgia Trend magazine has named Redmond Regional Medical Center the "Top MediumSized Hospital" in Georgia.
