We're Working Hard Before You Arrive In the event of a heart attack, you want the fastest care possible. At Cartersville Medical Center, we combine two advanced technologies to prepare for your arrival. • CAREpoint™ is a communication device that allows ambulance technicians to transmit your electrocardiogram (EKG) readings to the hospital. • The AirStrip app provides cardiologists immediate access to the EKG readings on an iPhone or iPad. Having this information available to care providers before you're admitted expedites diagnosis and treatment. "These technologies allow heart attack patients to bypass the ER and go straight to the catheterization lab for intervention," says Heather Clement, RN, BSN, CEN, ER Director at Cartersville Medical Center. "By saving time, we're able to save precious heart muscle." If you experience heart attack symptoms, call 911 immediately. WINTER 2014 Now Open— Ortho/Neuro Floor (3 North)!
