Welcome, new providers Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center recently welcomed two new medical professionals—Karen Galvan, MD, and Alesha (Akins) Pedersen, RPA-C—as part of its mission to make the highest quality care more accessible. A WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE ONE SURGEON, MANY HATS Dr. Galvan will be providing general surgical services at St. Lawrence Surgery in addition to treating patients at the Reverend Thomas T. Patterson Wound Healing Center, both located in Ogdensburg. She recently completed her residency in general surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where Karen Galvan, MD she also received her medical degree. Dr. Galvan performs a wide variety of surgical procedures. A passion for caring for the underserved ensures Dr. Galvan will fit right in at Claxton-Hepburn, where our mission is to meet the region's healthcare needs with compassion. She lives in Ogdensburg with her husband.
