Neurology Amelia Adcock, MD, has joined the WVU Department of Neurology. She has a special interest in cerebrovascular disease, stroke and telemedicine. She earned her medical degree at Ponce School of Medicine and completed a neurology residency at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. She is board-certified in neurology. He earned a master's degree in human nutrition at Columbia University, Institute of Human Nutrition, and his medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Neurosurgery Christopher Cifarelli, MD, PhD, has joined the WVU Department of Neurosurgery as the Director of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. His medical practice and research areas primarily focus on neuro-oncology, with a special clinical interest in tumors of the pituitary gland, as well as primary and metastatic brain tumors. He has authored numerous publications in the fields of neuro-oncology and radiosurgery and continues to perform both clinical and basic science research in these areas. Dr. Cifarelli earned his doctoral degrees at Jefferson Medical College and Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the University of Virginia Medical Center and a general neurosurgery fellowship at Auckland City Hospital and Starship Children's Hospital in New Zealand. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University Medical School, where he also completed a general surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition, he completed a pediatric surgery residency at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Shorter is board-certified in general and pediatric surgery.
