4 FALL 2014 A Hand-Up for Young Athletes Performance Improvement Training (PIT) at Inspira Health Network is a specialized program for kids ages 6 and up who want to enhance their athletic abilities. Classes focus on body mechanics, speed, agility, coordination and strength. More than a fitness camp, PIT provides a fun, positive atmosphere where participants can develop social and problem-solving skills while gaining self-confidence and a strong work ethic. To sign up your child, call 856-696-3924. Did you know sports physicals are available at Inspira Urgent Care Centers in Tomlin Station, Woolwich Township and Glassboro with no appointment necessary? To learn more, visit www.InspiraHealthNetwork.org/UrgentCare. Fitness: A Family Affair Technology and Expertise = Outstanding Care With pediatric Emergency Departments and 24/7 on-site pediatrician coverage at Inspira Vineland and Woodbury Medical Centers, parents can rest assured their children will receive age-appropriate, evidence-based care whenever it is needed. Now, thanks to Inspira's partnership with Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, ER physicians and pediatric hospitalists (hospital-based pediatricians) at Inspira Medical Centers Vineland and Woodbury can consult "face-to-face" with specialists at Nemours. The technology also is being introduced at the Vineland campus' David B. Rosenberg, M.D., Children's Care Unit and in the Inspira Medical Center Woodbury's Pediatrics Unit. iPad-based video conference technology also allows Nemours specialists to remotely observe pediatric patients in the Vineland and Woodbury ERs. This ability to "see" the patient can be especially helpful in cases such as respiratory distress and trauma. In some instances, this technology can eliminate the need for a young patient to be transferred. Inspira Health Network continues to raise the quality bar for its pediatric services. " This technology provides a new way for pediatric specialists at Nemours to share their expertise with Inspira physicians. Of course, the young patients and their families are the ones who truly benefit from this sharing of knowledge." — Eric Gibson, M.D., Nemours Director of External Pediatric Specialty Services Inspira Health Network Family & Friends
