Health Quest 6 With new healthcare regulations and rules, doctors and hospitals alike are constantly looking for better ways to provide patients with top-quality support. Health Quest has been successful in meeting this challenge. During summer 2014, Health Quest welcomed Kingston Neurological Associates to lead the Division of Neurology within HQMP, allowing all parties to focus on their No.1 priority—the patient. "Kingston Neurological Associates has always been committed to providing the best possible care," says Dr. Fabio Danisi, attending neurologist at Northern Duchess Hospital. "By joining a larger family of healthcare providers like Health Quest, we have more reach and capability to effect change in the medical community." SPECTRUM OF SERVICES Six neurologists and one physiatrist make up the new HQMP Division of Neurology group. All are attending physicians on the NDH medical staff and are board-certified. e group sees patients at two locations in Kingston and one in New Paltz, offering a full complement of neurological services that includes many clinical trials with research focusing on Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis. "We know so much more today about neurological conditions than we did even just 10 years ago, and many conditions are much more manageable than they used to be," Danisi says. "e most important thing is early diagnosis and treatment." TO FIND A NEUROLOGIST NEAR YOU, VISIT WWW.HEALTH-QUEST.ORG/HQMPNEUROLOGY. NEUROLOGICAL HEALTH Teaming Up for Your BOTOX: MORE THAN A PRETTY FACE Developed decades ago to treat strabismus and dystonia, a brain disorder that causes excessive muscle spasms, botulinum toxin has since been found to benefit people in more ways than simply treating wrinkles. The drug, known to most people by one brand name, Botox, works by relaxing muscles in isolated areas of the body where it has been injected, without typically causing other side effects. "It's extraordinarily safe and effective when used properly by someone who is experienced," says Dr. Fabio Danisi, neurologist with Health Quest Medical Practice. "Botulinum toxin is one of nature's most powerful toxins." Though commonly recognized for its use in cosmetic procedures, Danisi and other neurologists at HQMP use botulinum toxin to treat a variety of disorders, including dystonia, tremors, chronic headaches, excessive sweating or salivation, and spasticity caused by stroke, brain or spinal cord injury and multiple sclerosis.
