CHI St. Joseph's Health | www.SJAHS.org 2 CHI St. Joseph's Health | www.SJAHS.org 2 Welcome to the latest issue of HealthLine—a resource for wellness and hospital news. I am excited to share with you that recently, CHI St. Joseph's Health was awarded a $597,693 grant from PrimeWest Health's Community Reinvestment Program. The grant will support a new initiative to expand our lifestyle management programming through our CHI St. Joseph's Health Weight Management Center. The program will provide individuals with tailored health coaching and assistance with getting connected to the resources they need to improve their overall health and wellness. While we continue to provide quality patient care for the sick, we are proud to lead the way through our community outreach initiatives in reducing healthcare costs and helping people "Experience better health." Also in this issue, we are pleased to share with you the many other things that CHI St. Joseph's Health is doing to promote healthier communities. This includes support of "Food Angels"—a local program dedicated to feeding children who might otherwise go hungry on days when school is not in session. CHI St. Joseph's Health is also offering D1 Kids Club, a group for young people with type 1 diabetes and their families. Through discussions and games, this unique support system is helping children with type 1 diabetes and their parents become better managers of this chronic disease. Finally, I am proud of the work that we are doing to be a statewide leader in quality. CHI St. Joseph's Health was one of eight hospitals in Minnesota to be recognized for our work with the Partnership for Patients Hospital Engagement Network to improve quality and patient safety. In addition, we are also one of five hospitals in the LifeSource 3-state region to receive the highest award for our commitment to organ and tissue donation education. As always, I welcome any questions, concerns, or suggestions that you may have. Please contact me directly at 218.616.3500 or email me at BenKoppelman@CatholicHealth.net.
