CHIFriendship and The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) came together to celebrate our accomplishments— and made history in the process. On March 6, CHI Friendship became the rst organization in the country to receive CQL's four-year Person-Centered Excellence reaccreditation. For the 275people we support, this reaccreditation veries our dedication to ensuring people we support receive the services necessary to fulll their hopes and dreams. PARTNERING FOR EXCELLENCE The reaccreditation event kicked o on March 3 at 9:00 a.m. with an opening presentation that outlined who we are, where we've been, and where we stand today. The following days consisted of meetings and focus groups that gave CQL an opportunity to assess our success in the four areas required for reaccreditation: Shared Values, Basic Assurances, Personal Outcome Measures, and the Person-Centered Excellence activity. For CHI Friendship, the event provided a chance to review our progress and identify opportunities for growth. "CQL and CHI Friendship have the same goal: to make the lives of the people we support better," said Steve Ouren, a member of the direct care sta at CHI Friendship who participated in a reaccreditation focus group. "CQL provides impartial insight into what we're doing well and what we should do in the future. We're constantly trying to improve, and the accreditation process is a collaborative eort to take us to the next level."
