The estate of Leonard and Marjorie Wright donated $2.5 million to the CHI Mercy Health Foundation in December 2013. This year, the Foundation received an additional $500,000 from the Wright family after their estate was settled. Both gifts have enabled the purchase of several pieces of new equipment, which helps us improve the patient experience here at the hospital. Over the course of the past year, the CHI Mercy Health Foundation has bought the following: a new endoscope for upper gastrointestinal and colonoscopy examinations; an endoscope sanitizer machine; a telemetry system for use in surgery, in-patient rooms, and the emergency room; and most recently, a new nurse-call system for our in-patient rooms. Because of the Wright family's incredible generosity, CHI Mercy Health has acquired more than $800,000 in new equipment to date. For information on how you can give to the CHI Mercy Health Foundation, contact Stephanie Mayfield, Foundation Director, and ask about becoming a HI-5 Partner with the Healthy Impact Five-Year Pledge. Donations help your hospital provide innovative health resources and the gift of life and better health for our community. Contact Stephanie at (701) 845-6557, or visit our website at www.mercyhospitalvalleycity.org.
