Somewhere Under the Rainbow Cynthia Reistad and CHI Friendship Residential Manager Trish Hickey enjoyed the trip of a lifetime toHawaii. "It was absolutely amazing," said Trish Hickey of the sojourn to America's most far- ung state. "Hawaii was on Cynthia's list of dream destinations, and both of us took advantage of this opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery, the history, and the energy around us." Together, the ladies explored the island of Oahu. Following a packed itinerary, they visited the Dole plantation to sample pineapple ice cream, attended a festive luau, and explored the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve. They enjoyed lush tropical beaches and visited locations where many famous movies—including Jurassic Park, Karate Kid, and 50 First Dates—were lmed. And of course, they spent time and money on the beautiful things they saw at local stores. "Cynthia loves to shop, and we shopped every single day," Trish said. "She bought something everywhere we went and came away from the vacation with a new wardrobe." Cynthia and Trish also made it a priority to dine on cheeseburgers and mashed potatoes every day of their vacation, visiting a dierent restaurant for every meal. "It made sense to enjoy cheeseburgers in paradise," Trish said. "Cynthia loves them, and we found some fantastic restaurants." Cynthia and Trish also took a helicopter ride above Oahu, visited Pearl Harbor as part of a Circle Island Tour, and saw rainbows every day of their inspiring adventure. "Hawaii was an incredible place to vacation, especially with a person we support," Trish said. "People went out of their way to help us. Everyone treated us like gold, and you could see the resulting joy in Cynthia's smile. Hawaii made such a positive impression, and she was so happy to be there."
