RMC Named "TOP 100" Critical Access Hospital WE ARE PLEASED to report RMC beat out more than 1,700 rural hospitals nationwide to achieve Top 100 status. Harv Sanders, Chief Financial Officer at RMC, says the Top 100 ranking high- lights RMC's impact in the Rhea County community. "RMC is important to Rhea County because it provides quality medical care locally," says Sanders. "Without RMC, there would not be as many primary care physicians and visiting specialists in the area." + Community flu vaccinations + Dining With Diabetes + Pre-K Fun & Fitness Day RHEA MEDICAL CENTER IS ONE OF THE LARGEST EMPLOYERS IN THE COMMUNITY WITH A PAYROLL OF $9,331,931 FOR 2011. The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) named Rhea Medical Center one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in America for 2011. Meeting National Standards RMC received Top 100 ranking based on what's known as the Hospital Strength Index™, a quarterly scoring system that measures patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, affordability of services, and other data. "Everything we do at RMC is focused on providing quality patient care," says Sanders. "We review quality measures and discuss improvements in virtually every meeting that takes place here." This is the second time RMC has been named a Top 100 hospital. In 2002, the Thomson Corporation named RMC a Solucient Top 100 Hospital based on similar quality measures.
