The Foundation of Community Care Our largest and most successful fundraiser, the Festival of Trees supports medical equipment needs for CHI Mercy Health. Each year holds a new goal for finding the technologies and equipment that best satisfy the needs of our patients. This year all proceeds will go toward a new $45,000 DEXA bone density scanner, which will help us diagnose osteoporosis and fractures in patients. CHI Mercy Health performs more than 400 bone density scans annually, and with new equipment, we will be better able to prevent debilitating conditions. Last year the Festival of Trees helped the CHI Mercy Health Foundation raise more than $20,000 for our Physical Therapy Department. entire family looks forward to every year. We wouldn't miss it." The volunteers have made quite an impression over the years with their inventive creations. "The trees are always stunning," Stephanie says. "One that really resonates with me was from a few years ago. Volunteers came up with an 'Angels We Have Heard on High' theme and placed porcelain angels with gold dresses on the branches. Our CEO purchased the tree and gave it as a gift to the Sisters of Mary Presentation, who reside at Maryvale. It was very meaningful and truly captured the spirit of the season." The themes are always chosen by the volunteers, so this year will be lled with surprises you won't want to miss! You can bid on your favorite tree, wreath, or mantelpiece, and if you win, it will be delivered to your house the next day for you to enjoy throughout the season. LET US TREAT YOU As the night continues, other events will be sure to keep you entertained, including a "wine pull"—whoever pulls a winning cork out of a large wine bottle made of oak gets their pick of a ne wine from one of our donors. Past years have featured high-end shing rods, baskets of gourmet coee and chocolates, kitchen goods, and fun children's baskets with toys.
