Community HEART EDUCATION Thursday, February 11. Program begins at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Zach Baldwin, MD, will discuss how heart disease and peripheral disease are related: "Why Bad Pipes in the Basement May Also Mean Bad Pipes in the Ceiling." GENTLE JOINTS Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 2 p.m. The Club at St. Dominic's offers a low-intensity water walking class designed to help increase strength, endurance and flexibility. Just for Seniors AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE Learn defensive driving techniques and receive a discount on your automobile insurance by taking this four-hour course. Support Groups BRAIN INJURY SUPPORT GROUP Hosted by the Brain Injury Association of Mississippi for families dealing with brain injuries. CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP Second Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. in St. Dominic's conference rooms. For caregivers of St. Dominic's patients and caregivers in the community. NAMI SUPPORT GROUP Second Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. on the lower level of St. Dominic's in the Education Department in the St. Catherine's Classroom. Offered by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for family members who have adult relatives suffering from a mental illness. For more information, call (601) 899-9058. CITYWIDE STROKE CONNECTION A monthly support group for stroke survivors, family members and caregivers to connect and share experiences, information and advice. Held at 2 p.m. the first Friday of each month at Methodist Specialist Care Center, One Layfair Drive in Flowood. There is no cost to attend. For more information, call (601) 936-8888.
