A Break from the Grind: South Dakota Women's Expo For more than a decade, Huron Regional Medical Center has inspired women to put their health back on their to-do list by hosting an annual women's event, and 2012 is no different. This year's SD Women's Expo, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29, will feature bestselling author, performer and motivational speaker Nicole Johnson. [PHOTO] Nicole Johnson One of the primary goals of the SD Women's Expo is to help women learn how to deal with daily stressors and develop a healthier lifestyle, and Johnson has crafted a message perfectly suited to this mission. A Message of Hope With more than 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry, including the popular Women of Faith Retreat, Johnson has honed her talents into a message titled "Hope for the Daily Grind." Sharing lessons learned from divorce, disappointment and pain, she reveals that every hardship leads to a poignant new beginning. Through live portrayals of the challenges facing today's mega-multitasking women, Johnson emphasizes the difficulties that accompany life challenges such as raising children or going through a turbulent divorce. The "daily grind" of life that we often refer to sparked the title of her book, Fresh Brewed LifeĀ®. One-Stop Shop for Self-Improvement While HRMC's ultimate goal for the event is for women to participate in important health screenings, it's also about having a great time. Whether you're attending health presentations, cooking demonstrations, embarking on a shopping extravaganza or enjoying a spa treatment, there are activities for everyone to enjoy at this year's expo. The Passport to Good Health program is back, with an opportunity to win a room makeover available to attendees who complete health screenings throughout the day. New this year is a Best Friends makeover event to add to the excitement and fun of the day. Drawing more than 1,100 attendees each year, the SD Women's Expo truly offers a variety of relaxing, informative, entertaining and pampering activities to choose from. Women of all ages are encouraged to bring their sisters, mothers and friends and join in the fun. Advance tickets for the expo are now available. Sponsorship opportunities range from $250 to $2,000, with early-bird vendor spots available for $125 by June 29.
