Starting a Tradition of Gratitude Wishing Upon a Jar The 2015 Holiday Thank-you Party featured a wish jar in which attendees could share their wishes for CHI Friendship for 2016. Here are a few of our favorites: "all people we support have jobs, if they so wish" "cure for cancer" "for everyone to be healthy and happy" "more community participation" "to help everyone we support achieve their dreams" As 2015 drew to a close, CHI Friendship paused to celebrate the men and women who make our organization tick: Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). On December 16, DSPs in Fargo and Grafton gathered for the rst Holiday Thank-you Party. A live camera feed allowed attendees at both sites to enjoy each other's company. "The party was an opportunity for everyone to get together during the holiday season and celebrate what we accomplished in 2015," said Dori Leslie, Vice President of CHI Friendship. "Best of all, our leaders were able to show the DSPs how much we appreciate the work they do each and everyday." The party rooms were decorated with paper snowakes made by the people we support as well as a Christmas tree with CHI Friendship ornaments that attendees could take home. DSPs received gift bags, enjoyed a candy and chocolate buet, and played a variety of games. The highlight of the evening was the sele station, where partygoers could snap photos of themselves that were then posted to the CHI Friendship Facebookpage. "We saw so much laughter, fellowship, team building, and new friendships forming at the sele station," Leslie said. "Everyone had a wonderful time. DSPs are the heart of CHIFriendship, and we're so thankful to them for all they do for the people we support." CHI FRIENDSHIP /// www.chifriendship.com 3
