facilities throughout the community.
Emergency Care
It's a Saturday evening, and your family has just enjoyed a steak dinner
fresh o of the grill. You've cleaned the kitchen and are preparing to
curl up with a good book when you notice a tight feeling in your chest.
You're not quite sure if the shortness of breath is due to heartburn or
something more serious. But your next steps are critical.
"If you're having a problem that could be a direct threat to your
health, do not delay seeking the most proactive care available," said
Brandon Lewis, D.O., M.B.A., F.A.C.O.E.P., medical director of the
CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital emergency department. "Call
911 or visit the closest emergency department, where doctors are
trained to diagnose and treat time-sensitive medical emergencies."
