THIS PUBLICATION IN NO WAY SEEKS TO SERVE AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL CARE. CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE UNDERTAKING ANY FORM OF MEDICAL TREATMENT OR ADOPTING ANY EXERCISE PROGRAM OR DIETARY GUIDELINES. St . Anthony Hospital 2801 St. Anthony Way Pendleton, OR 97801 Supporting Our Community Pitch Your Pills CHI St. Anthony Hospital is launching a new medical prescription disposal program, beginning later this year, to provide the community a resource for getting rid of unwanted or unused prescription drugs. This new program is made possible by the Drug Enforcement Agency's new, relaxed rules on pharmaceutical drug collection, which went into eect October 2014. Prior to these new regulations, our city's police station was the primary source for prescription drug disposal. All pharmacy pick-up and mail order prescription drugs can be disposed of through this program. Illegal drugs cannot be dropped o. "It's our hope at CHI St. Anthony Hospital to provide a community service to help reduce prescription drug abuse as well as the number of medications disposed of in our sewer system," says Mike Rickman, PharmD, Manager of Pharmacy at CHI St. Anthony Hospital. "Iencourage everyone to use this service to clean out their cabinets of medications that could be a potential risk to others and the environment." For more information on the drug disposal program contact Mike Rickman, Pharmacy Manager, at 541-278-3234.
