This sounds like a lot, but just half an hour a day, ve days a week, means you've reached yourgoal. Exercise during the winter can seem especially challenging, as the urge to stay inside hits. Steps to Stay Active 5 Just because it's cold doesn't mean you have to stop being active. GET OUTSIDE. As long as you dress appropriately for the weather, running or walking outdoors can still be fun and safe. If you enjoy skiing, sledding, or other winter sports, look for opportunities within a day's drive. 1 USE YOUR BODY. Jumping jacks, push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups aren't just for gym class anymore. Body weight training builds muscle without touching a barbell. 2 CLIMB A WALL. Indoor climbing walls challenge your body and mind. 3 4 5 JUST MOVE IT. Dancing is a great way to get your heart rate up. Pick a 30 minute playlist with your favorite tunes, and have a dance party at home. If you're looking for a more structured opportunity to dance your way into tness, Zumba classes are oered at the Roundup Athletic Club (RAC) in Pendleton. THINK GROUP FITNESS.
