FAMILIES LOOKING FOR a great place to live find a lot to like in the Carbon Valley's communities. Firestone was recently named one of the two safest cities in Colorado, and Longmont regularly appears in "nation's best" polls. Now these thriving areas are even more inviting as they welcome three new primary care centers. Centura Health Firestone Neighborhood Health Center opened this fall at 6600 Firestone Blvd. in Firestone. The new facility is home to two Centura Health Physician Group (CHPG) practices offering primary care services. Pediatrician Lori Smith, MD, part of CHPG Pediatrics - Firestone, provides medical care, immunizations and well- child visits for infants, children and adolescents up to age 18. Family medicine physician Josh Taylor, MD, of CHPG Primary Care - Firestone, provides primary care services for all ages, from annual checkups to management of chronic conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease. A NEW LONGMONT LOCATION The new CHPG Primary Care - Southwest Longmont office opened its doors in October, introducing three new family medicine providers to the growing community. "Southwest Longmont is growing rapidly," says Larry Novissimo, Administrator of CHPG Longmont. "Our new clinic improves access to primary care providers for families living in this part of town." CHPG Primary Care - Southwest Longmont providers offer comprehensive pediatric and adult primary care in a family-friendly environment. The office is home to two board-certified physicians and a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Kevin Bundy, MD, is new to the area and comes to Longmont from a position with the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Steven Mlodinow, MD, has been a primary care and urgent care physician in Longmont for the past five years and is excited to care for the Southwest Longmont community. Susan Nelson, FNP-C, has served the Longmont community for more than 30 years and is passionate about the health of those she cares for. These new health options not only mean greater convenience, they also ensure enhanced connectivity when more acute health services are needed as they are integrated with Longmont United Hospital. "The combination is significant," says Peter Powers, LUH Vice President of Operations. "We are bringing patients the right care, at the right place, for the right price." › For more information about these care sites and services, please visit chpgprimarycare.org.
