A CENTERVILLE HIGH School graduate with local ties, Jackie joined Mercy Medical Center-Centerville in 2009 as a licensed practical nurse. She continue to pursue her education and became a registered nurse (RN) in 2010. "My goal was always to be an RN," Jackie says. "I worked in medical surgery and the emergency room. I've helped in the cardiac unit, too. When I saw a way I could help more people, I decided to do it." In December, Jackie became an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). She also took a new job with Mercy Medical Clinic. As a primary care provider, Jackie helps patients with day-to-day health concerns and chronic diseases. She works with two other ARNPs and offers same-day appointments. "We help patients get care sooner and save their time and money," Jackie says. "By choosing us instead of the emergency room for something simple, patients help make sure the ER is available for people who really need it."
